Mikado 174 is a yellow barrel hexagonal pencil
that features a red band around the ferrule.
The name Mikado was changed to Mirado during World War II,
as can be seen from Henry Petroski's Pencil.
“Japan`s bombing of Pearl Harbor immediately affected the war. On December 8, 1941,
Mikado Pencil changed its name to Mirado to wash away the Japanese atmosphere of its name."
